Catching up...

A humongo list of cool stuff to check out that I've been collecting for a little while but haven't had a chance to post to the blog about

Arboretum Systems is now giving away their HyperEngine AV software which is pretty cool. I thought it was a neat idea... I just downloaded it and can't wait to see if this is a better way of working.

some links I got via CreateDigitalMusic.com:
The European Space Agency has posted MP3s of sounds collected by the Huygens Atmospheric Structure Instrument.
NASA has a quicktime video of the Cassini probe with sound
Cycling '74 is going to be the distributor for the Jazz-Mutant Lemur which is a crazy expensive, but also neato control surface
CreateDigitalMusic has a nice review of the Garage Band 2.0 Upgrade
CreateDigitalMusic also has a nice thing on the new Apple Powerbooks (I'm also in the camp that would be just as happy with a dual-core G4 laptop instead of a G5)
CreateDigitalMusic additionally has a cool article on the state of New York's experimental music scene
CreateDigitalMusic published a little synopsis of the New Virtual Orchestras
Numark has a couple new inexpensive little DJ mixers with USB in so you can hook your laptops up to them: the DM950USB and the DXM01
alphakanal multimedia introduced a new synth, Generator for free download. Very nice looking!
Barry Wood has posted his 2005 NAMM oddities! This is a favorite of mine every year.
From Barry's page, I got a link to Italia Guitars which has some amazing looking basses, my favorite is the Maranello
EM411 has a review of the faderfox lv1. I can't wait for the faderfox guys to open up their sales to the US.

that's all for now, but that should keep you clicking for a while...
